Wedding Photos Online - The Ceremony
IntroductionBefore the ceremony I have a look around the room to find the best positions and speak with the Minister or Registrar to see if they have any house rules.
The size of the room will dictate how much I'm able to move around. If it's only a small wedding, changing positions would be noticeable and distracting for the guests.

Here, I positioned myself in the top right corner to photograph the bride during the service.
With a good quality zoom lens I was able to capture this shot from the same position.
My camera can lock onto a moving subject and keep it in focus as it moves towards me - very useful for brides walking down the aisle! Remember to look up when you're walking, don't look down at the ground!
I think this is a lovely picture. The Minister must have made a joke for the groom to be looking at him like that, and you can just tell how in love the bride is.
Intimate moments like this often go unnoticed. This is the groom's sister and husband, who have just had their first anniversary. I know this because I photographed their wedding as well!
This was a special photo for the wedding couple - the father of the bride.
Being an outdoor wedding, I was able to easily and discreetly walk around the seating area to change viewpoints. I used my long lens from the back so as not to stand in the middle of the aisle.
These guys have just sent the page boy (the bride and groom's son) walking down the aisle. I anticipated what was going to happen, so I framed the shot and waited for the right expressions.
More candid moments, this time from the groom's parents.
During the ceremony I'm pretty much constantly looking through my camera, in order to take photos like this one.
I'm not afraid to crop photos so they're square. It works well here because both the bride and groom's elbows are at right angles. They form a natural square and make the composition even and balanced.
