A Flush Mount Album Can Really
Show Off Your Wedding!
How is a flush mount album different to other wedding photo albums?
Well, on the outside it looks like an ordinary bound wedding album.
It has a cover made of a material like vinyl, leather, timber or metal.
But on the inside, the photos aren't mounted on a page behind mats.
Each side, as you look at it, is actually a photographic print that has been mounted onto a stiff card page,
so the edge of the print is flush against the edge of the card page. It is "mounted flush".
The alternative is a traditional wedding album.
Now, here's the tricky bit. A flush wedding album isn't necessarily a magazine wedding album. If you've read my page on
magazine wedding albums,
you'll know what I'm talking about. If not, have a look to find out!
Some photographers prefer to design a digital wedding album in a more traditional
style, similar to the look of a matted album.
For example, rather than busy, overlapping designs with faded background photos,
they're simply arranged. Perhaps with lots of blank space on the pages for a really contemporary feel.
However, because magazine style albums are designed on computer and the layouts printed onto one piece of photographic paper,
they will be flush mounted. It would be really weird to see magazine style layouts in a traditional wedding album!
Important things to remember
- Flush mount refers to the way the photos are mounted onto a page
- This doesn't necessarily make it a magazine style album
- A magazine wedding album will be flush mounted
